Cost of U.S. visa rises to U.S. $100
There’s another big immigration story making the news tonight and many viewers will find that it’s a bigger scandal than the illegal selling of passports. What I’m talking about is the cost of a tourist visa to visit the States. A release by the U.S. embassy today announced that on November first the price of that all important document will rise to–hold on to your chair–one hundred U.S. dollars! The current charge of sixty-five U.S. dollars was only just introduced on the first of June. Before that date it stood at forty-five. The embassy release cited increased costs and a drop in visa applications in the post nine-eleven environment. The fees are supposed to reflect the actual cost of providing the service and will be adjusted periodically as those costs change. The new prices are not confined to Belize and apply worldwide. Remember, you still have one more week to secure your visa at the old price… or maybe it’s time to think about taking that next holiday in San Pedro instead of San Francisco.
