Safiyyah finds family entertainment around the country

If you haven’t decided what to do over the long holiday weekend, Safiyyah is here to help. She has some ideas in this week’s What’s Happening Belize.

Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize.

This weekend is a long one and there are more than enough events happening all over the country to keep you entertained.

In Belmopan this Saturday there will sports galore. Firstly, the National Football Association will be having their championship games at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium. These games will begin at five p.m. This event will also have special performances by the Garden City School Marching Band and also a steel band. Another sporting event happening in Belmopan on Saturday is the Big Volleyball Games. These volleyball games are presented by the Belmopan Volleyball Association and will be held at the U.B. Gymnasium. These games start at eight p.m.

In Pomona Valley on Saturday, there will be all day fair at the St. Matthews Anglican School. This May Fair will feature a lot of fun activities for the entire family like: horse back riding, bouncy house and many more. There will be lots of food, drinks and pastry on sale. A big dance will follow featuring Continental Cat and Chico Ramos.

Up north in Orange Walk, there will be plenty of events this weekend geared towards the adult audience. At Orange Plaza, they are inviting everyone from O.W. and beyond to come out all weekend and check out the best ceviche bar in Sugar City. They especially want everyone out on Saturday night when the sexy Sugar Baby Dancers will be putting on a very special “Coyote Ugly Night”. And you know what that means! Also on Sunday and Monday the party won’t stop. There will be more wild performances, tasty ceviche, free botanas and ice-cold drinks.

And also in Sugar City your partying can continue each night inside the nightclub Hi-5, where they will be having huge promotions for their fourth anniversary celebration weekend. This promotional weekend will include a Massive Rockstar Concert outside, karaoke in the sports bar and of course parties in the club. They also will be having special prices on drinks and even a few free drinks for the ladies especially with ladies night on Sunday.

Here in the City, Ambassador Lounge will be having the New Generation inside the club on Saturday bringing out live performances to get you hype. They will be playing local and international tunes so you can dance the night away. Everyone is invited to the Ambassador Lounge this Saturday night. Next week Friday St. Mary’s Anglican School will be having their Literacy Open Day from ten a.m. until three p.m. We invite all schools to go out and see the works of their students.
