Mayor, Councilors, Staff Got Extra for Board Memberships
News Five has received information of additional spending concerns by the former Belize City Council. According to information available, members of the Belize District Liquor Licensing and Trade Licensing Board are paid for their quarterly meetings – once every three months – but some of those persons also already get additional stipends and/or salaries for their work with the Council. The document shows that former Mayor Darrell Bradley collected a total of nine thousand dollars for the year as vice-chair of the Liquor Licensing Board and chair of the Trade Licensing Board. Armead Gabourel as chair of the Liquor Licensing Board was paid five thousand. Councilors Kevin Singh and Philip Willoughby collected three thousand each as members of the Trade Licensing Board for the year as did Edmund Kwan, Albert Moody and James Swan on the Liquor Licensing Board. Employees of the Council such as the City Administrator Candice Miller collected less for their duties.
