Belize Diplomats Know What They’re Doing
On the Belize side, questions have been raised about how the message about the validity of Guatemala’s claim is getting out. There appears to be a disconnect between the politicians on both sides of the border and their technocratic support team at the diplomatic level. But may that possibly result in a surprise either on Sunday or down the road? Ambassador Murphy said he puts his faith in those at the top to understand and be able to act on the issue.
Ambassador James Murphy
“I am not sure that I would agree that there is absence of substance at the political level. I think we have been well represented, and very competently represented, at the political level by both governments.”
Host
“Currently?”
Ambassador James Murphy
“Yes, over the years. I think Minister [Wilfred] Elrington and C.E.O. Alexis Rosado are both well versed on the subject and very capable of handling the issue. So I’m not concerned about what Mr. Ross calls the political directorate.”

This is an issue that has given more land to Guatemala than any other country would have bargain for and you say Belize is doing well in negotiations, you along with them need to be FIRED!
