P.G. teenager shot by robber
A teenager from Punta Gorda is clinging to life at the K.H.M.H. after he was shot in the chest by a robber. Thirteen year old Rodney Borland was behind the counter at his family’s shop around 8:00 on Friday night when a masked man, armed with a handgun came in and demanded money. When Borland refused, the intruder shot him point blank. The wounded teenager was rushed to the Punta Gorda Hospital and later transferred to the K.H.M.H. where he is reported in serious but stable condition. A suspect has been detained by Punta Gorda Police.
