Chinese merchants fight back
While one Chinese merchant remains unconscious, several others have been able to turn the tables on their assailants. On Thursday two men ordered a bucket from twenty-eight year old Ying Kuang-mie and when he opened the burglar gate to bring it out, the men attempted to barge in. That’s when Ying grabbed a knife and chopped one of the intruders in the forehead. The pair fled and police are currently looking for them.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night in Dangriga, three guys tried to jack fifty-two year old Wen Dong-liu at his shop on Commerce Street. The trio, armed with handguns and wearing masks, entered the store, demanded money and busted a few shots to show they were serious. Instead of handing over the cash, Wen grabbed his licensed twelve gauge shotgun and blasted away. the robbers fled and police have since detained two suspects.
