Guatemalans detained in Cayo robbery
San Ignacio police are investigating a hold-up and robbery that took place Tuesday night at Western Gas Limited in Santa Elena. Around 6:30 that evening, the company’s manager, Orlando Martinez, two co-workers and a watchman were at the premises when they were held up by three armed masked men. Martinez told the police that the assailants, who carried a handgun, first took away the watchman’s shotgun and then stole an undisclosed amount of money. Today, authorities say they have detained two Guatemalan nationals pending further investigation.
