How Budget of $8 Million is Prepared

It is going to be a big task, as the last re-registration happened back in 1997. And with its scope and size to clean up the national voter list, comes a hefty cost. The Elections and Boundaries Department says that it will cost some eight million dollars to do the re-registration. Tamai explains where the monies will be used.

“Presently, we have a budget allocated for eight million dollars.”

“And that entails?”

“That entails the staffing, going out to do investigations, equipment that we have to use, over-time that the staff will incur. We have to employ over three hundred additional persons to get this exercise done. We are hoping to get the schools for free because the re-registration centers that we will be using are mostly primary schools.”
