Nurses Organize Cookout at K.H.M.H.
It’s nurses week and the K.H.M.H. nurses took a little break to celebrate with a cookout competition. Nurses from Philippines, Jamaica, Guyana, Nigeria, Cuba, and Nicaragua, along with the Belizean nursing staff made their cultural foods and put on a creative food displays in the parking lot of the hospital. We stopped by for a quick look at the nurses’ culinary skills.

“This week we are celebrating nurses week and today is our cultural cook out day because we diverse with ethnicities in the hospital, we have all the different cultures that we are made up of presenting their cultural foods and it has to be a healthy one. We will have the food judged. These ladies started at ten o’clock to prepare their meals and at 12:30 is the cut off time and we have three judges and each of them will be getting a plate of food from the six groups and they will pick a winner. We will have first, second and third prize.”
At the end of the nurses’ cookout competition, the Cubans took home the first prize.
