Micah Goodin Apologizes; CitCo Back Together
An olive branch, in an attempt to mend a somewhat broken relationship between Councilor Micah Goodin and Mayor Bernard Wagner, has been extended via an online apology on Thursday. The outspoken and often impulsive Goodin took to Facebook to express remorse for an outburst during which the mayor was disparaged. But what does his colleague, the deputy mayor, think about the irresponsible rant?
Oscar Arnold, Deputy Mayor, Belize City Council
“All of us handle situations differently. Councilor Goodin obviously felt in his mind that at that point in time that is what he needed to do. Since then, I’ve been told that there was an apology that was also posted on his page. To be honest, on that matter, because it involved the head of our council, the mayor, he would be the one that would be able to better tell you exactly what transpired there. But as far as I know, the councilors at the time when it took place, the mayor enjoyed the full support of the councilors. Councilor Goodin has also now expressed that he is in support of Mayor Bernard Wagner. Again, I say it, we all have different personalities and whenever you have a team coming together, a team of eleven, one shy of a basketball team or a volleyball team, you have different personalities that must be managed. And I think simply that is all that took place in that scenario there, I haven’t had the luxury of having a discussion with Councilor Goodin, so we’ll see where that goes. Like I said, I was told that there was an apology that was posted yesterday as well. I can’t give you to the extent because I haven’t read the post as yet.”
