“Danny” Mason et al Face Kidnapping Trial

William “Danny” Mason

An apparently shocked William “Danny” Mason was told this morning he would face yet another Supreme Court trial.  Back in February of 2017, Mason and his co-accused were similarly committed for trial for the murder of beheaded Pastor Llewellyn Lucas and conspiracy to commit murder and kidnapping of Pastor Lucas and David Dodd. Today, Senior Magistrate Merlene Moody of the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court ruled that there is enough of a case for the Supreme Court to hear and decide in relation to the kidnapping of Mennonite couple Lloyd Thiessen and his wife in the Belmopan area on May thirty-first, 2016. The Thiessens had reported their kidnapping, then left Belize for Canada out of fear for their lives; they returned to the country to make a formal statement and have once again headed back to Canada. The businessman had reportedly given three hundred thousand dollars to Mason to import corn, but the grain was never delivered and things went sour with Mason when Thiessen attempted to recover his money.  Mason along with Ashton Vanegas of Camalote Village, and brothers, Keiron Fernandez, and Terrence Fernandez, will thus stand trial beginning any time after June in relation to the case.
