Police look for bad cheque artist
The unidentified drowning victim in Corozal is not the only mystery facing police tonight. A con man is apparently on the loose, and while no lives are in danger, he may put your wallet at risk. According to police reports, on August eighth one Jalal Mohammed Atich purchased a twelve thousand dollar welding machine from Universal hardware in Spanish Lookout. The only problem was that when the store went to deposit the cheque they found that Mr. Atich’s bank account had been closed. This apparently is not the first time the gentleman has left a merchant empty handed and the public is asked to be wary of any cheques written by Jalal Mohammed Atich or Jalal Electric Company. Police continue their efforts to bring him in for questioning.
