Austin Williams in Gunman’s Crosshairs in Seine Bight
Austin Williams is tonight recovering at the Southern Regional Hospital, reportedly under police guard, following a shooting incident that occurred overnight in Seine Bight Village on the peninsula. Williams was socializing with another person when he was assaulted by a gunman who simply walked up to him and opened fire. He was hit twice and rushed to the hospital. The investigation is still very young, but ACP Joseph Myvett shared details known so far.

“Shortly after seventy-thirty p.m., police responded to information of a shooting in Seine Bight Village in the Stann Creek District. Upon arrival, one Austin Williams reported to police that while standing at a street corner with a friend, they were approached by a male person who fired several shots, two of which caught Austin Williams—one to the left lower back and one to the left cheek. Police are seeking one suspect and this is an ongoing investigation.”

“Could you speak to the condition of Mister Williams at this time sir?”

“He is in a stable condition.”

“I know sir that this is the early stage of the investigation, but is police anywhere close to determining a motive for this crime?”

“No not as yet, but we are looking for one suspect.”

“Not to my knowledge.”
