“We’re looking forward to a very exciting competition. There are two entries this year that were missing two years ago and this is Stann Creek Independence United softball team, they are a former champion and they play a different brand of softball. They bring excitement and finesse to the sport of softball and they have returned as the champions for the Stann Creek District, along with another former champion, C.T.C. of Belize City. So this weekend will be full of excitement, the highest level of softball currently being played in Belize will be in full swing this weekend at the Rogers Stadium.”

“Overall, how have all the teams been preparing for the tournament?”
Patrick Henry
“They went through their regular competition, which each association runs, and then the finals is this national championship. Independence United won undefeated in the Stann Creek District and then team C.T.C. of Belize, they have probably the best overall balanced team in this competition. So I am assuming that it will be a down to the wire finish between Independence and C.T.C. of Belize City. They are currently going through their various training programmes to make sure that they give this level of softball play we expect from them.”
The ticket booth opens from 8:00 a.m. at Rogers Stadium, with game time at 9:30. Tickets are three dollars for adults and one dollar for children. In addition to C.T.C. and Independence United, the teams in the double elimination competition are Habet’s Lady Rebels, Willows Bank, Burrell Boom, Crystal Duurly’s of Camalote, Roaring Creek’s Grace Kennedy and the Griga Girls.
