Cayo man charged with rape of 7-year-old
A thirty-six year old man has been arrested and charged with the rape and indecent assault of a seven-year-old girl. According to San Ignacio police, a man identified as Solomon Mantar, over a period of seven months regularly took the young girl from her mother’s house and had sex with her. Authorities say their investigation reveals that the child’s mother does not know Mantar, and it is still not clear how or why the minor consistently left her house with a stranger. On Thursday, Mantar appeared in San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court, was denied bail and remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
