Accused Murderer Mathew Moore is Granted Bail after Years of Pretrial Detention

Mathew Moore

Twenty-seven-year-old Mathew Moore, accused of murder, was today granted bail. Moore, who has been behind bars waiting for trial since March 2011, was given bail in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars by Justice Colin Williams. The murder victim is Andrew Moses, who was shot and killed as he walked on Kraal Road, Belize City.  Moore’s attorney, Oscar Selgado, successfully argued in court that Moore should be granted bail because his right to a fair trial within a reasonable time has been violated. The Crown was represented by Crown Counsel Shanice Lovell.
