Marie Sharp Re-branded with a New Line of Products

You may not have noticed as yet, but your favorite Marie Sharp’s jams and jellies are looking a bit different now. The iconic Belizean brand recently underwent a re-branding of some of your favorite products. Don’t worry though; Marie Sharp herself reassures us that it is the same great product that you love, just with a more attractive packaging. Sharp was a guest on our morning show Open Your Eyes earlier today to talk about the need for the brand’s new colorful packaging.

“After a while on the market you get kind of stagnant. You have to reinvent yourself bring yourself back up again. I went away recently or sometime back and when I saw what was out there I said to myself: “ no, I have to do something about mine. I have to do something to bring up back mine again.” That was the whole idea behind doing this. You have to keep up with the market or you get left behind.”

“We found out that in jams it is very competitive in Belize and especially outside. We’re competing with Mexican brands and America.   So why not change the look and do a facelift put a bottle that is more gourmets. Use a lot of color so that someone passing through Miami sees a jam from Belize that says tropical fruits or tropical oranges making that jam from Maria Sharps. That was the whole idea behind my grandmothers plan to rebrand bring out the colors.”

“It has worked because since we did that the Belize show the other day – Belizean products they went over well. I was amazed to see the movement of the products and it was the same product that was there the whole time so the change has relayed one nicely with our sales.”

The jams and jellies in their new packaging are already on shelves and the company will be releasing its own line of wine within the coming months.
