Guatemalan Nationals Charged for Murder of Salvadoran Man in Franks Eddy Village
Belmopan Police have arrested and charged a man and a woman in the brutal chopping death of fifty-two-year-old Santos Guerra Dominguez. Guatemalan nationals’ forty-year-old Arnulfo Nunez Gonzalez and thirty-nine-year-old Hilcia Cano Arevalo, both of Franks Eddy Village, were jointly charged with the murder of Guerra Dominguez. Sometime around four on Sunday morning, the Salvadoran national was socializing at a house where an argument started and he was attacked with a machete. He reportedly left the residence, but his killers followed him and chopped him to death.
Villagers say that they heard screams just before midnight and at least one resident saw a man chopping Dominguez to death. His body was discovered lying on a road in the village and his face was chopped beyond recognition. Dominguez’ family told us that he has only been in Belize for about a month to visit his son. They say that he was planning to relocate to Belize.
