NSC Director Says Parking of Buses a Business Opportunity

According to Ian Jones, the National Sports Council is simply taking advantage of a business opportunity which it can parlay into the improvement of existing programs at the department.

“We have the space available, we see it as a business opportunity basically for the sports council where we could garner need and necessary funds to further advance our sporting programs and our facilities.  We don’t have a say in whether or not B.T.B. or city council decides to do it here, we’re just making the space available if they intend to use it.”

“Have you received any feedback from residents in the neighborhood in respect of this proposed idea?”

“Well officially I have not, but I have heard through the grapevine that some residents may have an issue with it, just like with everything else.”

The public consultation was also attended by residents in the area of the Marion Jones Sporting Complex.
