‘Old Beef’ Cause of Shooting in Bella Vista Village
Also on Tuesday night, there was a shooting shortly after nine p.m. in Bella Vista Village on the Southern Highway. Nineteen-year-old Valerio Bak was shot multiple times to the body by one of three men from the village with whom he had conflict. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett says that Bak was treated at and released from the Southern Regional Hospital. Police are also looking for three persons in connection with this attempt on Bak’s life.

“Valerio Bak, a nineteen-year-old laborer of Bella Vista Village was seen with several gunshot injuries: one to his right leg, one to his left arm and one to his left foot. Initial investigation reveals that the victim was walking alone in the village when he heard several shots and realized that he was shot. Police are looking for three suspects in relation to this incident. Mister Bak has since been released from the Southern Regional Hospital.”

“The report yesterday said that he saw three persons; did he recognize any of those persons?”

“Yes he does; he did recognize two of those persons who are being sought. We are still trying to establish a motive. We know that there have been several back and forth instances between him and several persons from that village.”
