CitCo is Gifted 2 Cycles

The Belize City Council received two brand new cycles from a charitable Ladyville resident, Hernan Serrano, the owner of Serrano’s Bus Line. According to Serrano’s wife, he took home two hundred and forty-one thousand four hundred dollars from a Fantasy Five winnings last month and he had always wanted to give back.  So, he took some of those winnings and purchased six cycles, two of which he gave to the Belize City Council. News Five attended the handing over today.

Allan Pollard, City Councilor

“Serrano’s Bus Line they offered us to donate two motorcycles to the department which was well needed because one of the things at the department is lack of mobility for the officers and they have to be deployed all over the City. We have to mobile vehicles and that have to wait and drop off and pick up, so this is a very instrumental part of the department now knowing that two officers could mobilize around the city much better now.”

“I know transport is a recurring issue; will you all be able to purchase more motorbikes?”

“Well being in the financial status that we are right now,  we are kinda cash strapped so maybe next year when the new budget comes hopefully we have a budget in there for more motorcycles. For right now, whatever we can get donated will be greatly appreciated.”

Tenisha Serrano, Donor

“This was something he always wanted to do. So, he decided to donate two motorcycles to the traffic department, two to Ladyville Police and two to transport.”

Reporter

“Why did you see it important to try and help the City Hall?”

“Well, it is just something he always wanted to do and so we believed that here is a need for it and for that reason we decided to donate. We also have back to our people in Ladyville. So, for the day they were able to ride the bus for free, if they wanted to ride the bus the whole day from six in the morning they were able to do that.”
