Businessman shot during hold-up dies
A businessman attacked during an armed robbery last week has succumbed to his injuries. According to police, Presentacion Chavez, the owner of a bar in the village of Spanish Lookout, was shot in the stomach by four armed and masked men on Thursday night. Chavez was admitted to ward at the Loma Luz hospital with three gunshot wounds, but later died on Friday. During the attack, the bandits stole an undetermined amount of money from Chavez and his customers. The robbers’ getaway truck, stolen from a customer at the bar, was later found abandoned off the Bullet Tree Road. Police have yet to make any arrests.
