UDP looks to groom young leaders
If you’re a youth interested in activism and social change, the youth arm of the United Democratic Party, Y.P.F., is organising an “Emergent Leaders Forum” on Thursday at seven p.m. at SJC’s audio-visual room. Y.P.F.’s President-elect, Darrell Bradley, told News 5 that the event is open to all young people; not just hardcore political types.
Darrell Bradley, President-elect, Y.P.F.
“Well the forum is a culmination of a three-week long programme that we’ve been having with young people throughout Belize. And what we’ve been doing, we’ve been engaging them in a meaningful dialogue about the role of youths in the development of Belize. And on Thursday we’ll be having a forum with the Honourable Dean Barrow, talking about issues pertinent to youth and youth development in Belize and seeing if we can develop some sort of effective and meaningful dialogue with political leaders so that young people know their role in our country’s future.”
Ann-Marie Williams
“What are some of the issues that will be on the agenda for this discussion?”
Darrell Bradley
“We will be talking about what the United Democratic Party has to offer young people in the way of employment, in the way of education, in the way of meaningful policies that will develop their capacity to be effective citizens in our country’s future.”
Speakers at the event will include all ten UDP Belize City standard bearers.
