Two musicians join Central American orchestra
Earlier this month we reported on a group of Belizean musicians travelling to Malaysia for a music festival. Today, two more departed the country for an international tour. Bredda David Obi and Peter “Poots” Flores are tonight in Costa Rica where they will link up with thirteen Central American colleagues as part of a multi-national orchestra. Formed in February, the group, now known as Manuel Obregon y la Orquesta de la Papaya, will perform a series of concerts in Costa Rica, Guatemala and the Mexican State of Chiapas. Other dates and a record deal are being negotiated with the band scheduled to hit Belize as part of the September celebrations.
