A Pilot Escapes Grave Injury After Crash Landing Crop Duster in More Tomorrow
There was a report of a downed aircraft this morning in the vicinity of More Tomorrow in the Cayo District. On arrival at the scene of the crash, police discovered that it was a crop duster which was being used in the industrial spraying of rice fields in the area. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett, the single-engine aircraft experienced mechanical difficulties and crash landed. Fortunately, the pilot was able to survive the incident, escaping grave injuries when the aircraft burst into flames.

“Shortly after 9:15 a.m., information was received of an aircraft accident in the More Tomorrow area. The area was visited by police and civil aviation whereupon arrival they met one Henry Plett who informed that whilst piloting a crop duster aircraft spraying rice fields in the area, the aircraft experienced mechanical problems and as a result he attempted to land the aircraft and in the process he crash landed. Shortly after, he was able to exit the aircraft, the aircraft burst into flames. He did not receive any injuries The matter is currently under investigation by civil aviation.”
It’s a blessing that this ag-pilot did not perish in the crash. It saddens me whenever I hear of an ag-pilot going down. It’s a blessing from God he lives to fly another day.
