Samuel Cosme Found Fatally Stabbed

There was a second murder over the weekend. Ladyville police are investigating the fatal stabbing of Belize City resident, Samuel Cosme. The forty-three-year-old was found brutally murdered early this morning on a feeder road off the Phillip Goldson Highway near the Haulover Bridge. According to police, Cosme was stabbed several times to different parts of his body. Investigators are looking for a female for questioning, who is believed to have been with him, prior to his demise. News Five’s Hipolito Novelo reports.

Early this morning, a ghastly discovery was made; the body of forty-three year old Samuel Elias Zelada Cosme, a Belize City resident, was found. At around fifty-thirty police were called out to an area off the Phillip Goldson Highway near Haulover Bridge where they came across the grisly murder scene.

“Ladyville Police, acting upon information, visited a road that is near the Haulover Bridge just before entering Belize City. About three hundred yards inside of the road police found suspected blood on the street. They also found a grey in color short pants, a pair of slippers and a blue in color cop. A farther distance, about four hundred meters police found a red in color Ford Ranger pickup, Belize City license plates, abandoned. And about four hundred meters opposite the pickup they found the motionless body of a male person.”

Cosme had been stabbed multiple times. Investigators observed stab wounds to the chest, abdomen, back and hand. He was last seen alive by his family in Sunday, before he headed out t to meet with workers.

“The last time he was seen alive was sometime yesterday by a family member in the Mahogany Street Extension Area. All what they have gather so far from the family is that he was socializing with some friends and he told them he was going to visit some workers in the Ladyville area. Specifically, by Lords Bank area. That was the last time they heard and saw him.”

Speaking off camera, a relative told News Five that they do not have any idea who would have Cosme dead or why. Investigators are looking for one person, a female who may have been in Cosme’s company when he was brutally killed. Cosme leaves behind three children. Reporting for News Five, I am Hipolito Novelo.
