New charges filed against Vega

Mark Vega, believed to be the leader of a gang that went on a depraved spree of murder, rape and robbery last Thursday, has been hit with additional charges. The new counts for robbery, forcible abduction and kidnapping come in connection with the assault on Jacob Rancharan and a female companion which occurred near the sea in Corozal Town. Already charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, rape and an unnatural crime, Vega is yet to be charged in connection with the murder of Susanna Petkau and attempted murder of her husband Enrique. Police are still gathering evidence in that case, content in the knowledge that the twenty-seven year old Vega has been denied bail and remains on remand at Hattieville Prison.
