Xaibe Villager is Victim of Fatal Hit and Run

A man was knocked down and killed along the Philip Goldson Highway over the weekend. Police say it was a hit and run that claimed the life of Virgilio Mena on Sunday sometime around nine in the night. There are not many details about the deadly traffic accident, but police say they are following several leads.

“Corozal Police visited an area between miles seventy four and seventy five on the Phillip Goldson Highway where they observed a male person on the side of the highway with several cut wounds and severe damages to his head. Upon inspection of the scene a bicycle was found some forty feet away from the body. The body has been identified today as that of Virgilio Mena of Xaibe Village. No other particular for him as yet. Police is conducting an investigation into the matter. We are following several leads but so far, no arrest has been made.”
