Suspect detained in Corozal murder/rape

Police have finally caught one of the four men they believe murdered a woman in cold blood, injured her husband and raped a young lady on Thursday in Corozal and Orange Walk. Twenty-seven year old Mark Vega was picked up by police around nine last night as he arrived in Belize City by bus from Orange Walk Town. Vega was expected to take part in an ID parade at the Crimes Investigation Branch in Belize City sometime this evening. Mark Vega is no stranger to the law. He’s on bail for robbing a Corozal gas station as well as shooting a man in the leg a couple of months ago. Police are still looking for the other three suspects.
