Jacker shot by merchant finally charged

Two brothers operating separate businesses on Freetown Road were both robbed over the weekend by the same man. According to police, around 7:30 on Sunday night, a patron walked into Yin Kee restaurant on Freetown Road and ordered a beer. But when it was time to pay, the man pulled out a handgun and ordered owner Percy Chow to give him any weapons he had behind the counter. When Chow told him he didn’t have any guns, the bandit raided the register and settled for approximately one hundred dollars in cash.

Just about the time Percy Chow was calling the cops, his brother Dennis became the armed robber’s next victim. Walking into the Garden Shop, doors down from Yin Kee, the robber used the same M.O. This time he asked for a phone card but when it was time to pay, pulled out his gun and held up proprietor Dennis Chow. The jacker walked out with a hundred and ninety-five dollars in phone cards and a bag of toys. Police have since detained a suspect and recovered the items taken from Dennis Chow, but have yet to file charges.
