Chinese Grocer Shot During an Attempted Robbery
On Saturday night, Xiang Quan Chen was shot inside his shop in Ladyville. According to police, just after eight-thirty, thirty-eight-year-old Chen was inside his shop, Guan Ying on Marage Road, when two masked men entered and attempted to rob the establishment. One of the armed men fired shots which hit Chen in the chin and neck. Today, police reported that Chen remains hospitalized is in a critical but stable condition.

“Initial information that the police have gathered so far is that Mr. Chen was inside of his business shop, namely Gung Ying, located at number ten Marage Road. He was inside his shop when two male persons covering their face, one of them approached the outside counter and pushed his hand from an outside window through the burglar bar and demanded money. As a result, the male person fired two shots injuring Mr. Chen to the chin and the back. There after they made good their escape. Mr. Chen is in the hospital at the moment in a critical but stable condition. Nothing was stolen from Mr. Chen.”
