3-year-old Drowns in Well in Bella Vista Village

There was further lost of life over the weekend. A toddler died on Sunday after falling into a well in Bella Vista Village, Stann Creek District.  Three-year-old Benjamin Mas drowned inside the spring, despite all efforts to revive him.  According to Arturo Mas, his son disappeared from sight earlier that afternoon and by the time they were able to locate the infant, he was found submerged inside a well.  They rushed him to the nearest medical facility, to no avail.

“On Sunday, police responded to a drowning at Bella Vista Village where they met the father of the minor, Arturo Mas, twenty-five-years-old of that same village who reported that earlier in the day, whilst he was at his residence, he made checks for his son, Benjamin Mas, three-years-old, and could not locate him.  They did a search of the yard where they found the lifeless body of the minor inside of a well.  He was taken to the Independence Polyclinic, but by the time they arrived he had already passed away.”
