Police Inching Closer to Finding Out Who was the Driver in Double Fatalities Down South
Siblings Anthony and Jamie Archer perished on impact during a deadly road traffic accident along the San Antonio Road in the Toledo District on the evening of July twenty-fourth. The brothers were along with two other young men inside a Toyota Corolla when the driver of the vehicle lost control and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on the side of the highway. The other two occupants have since been identified as twenty-year-old Darian Romero and seventeen-year-old Jerry Cruz. Both men are lucky to have survived the incident and have since been released from the hospital. But a police investigation remains open and detectives have learned that the vehicle was the property of Romero’s sister. They say that the vehicle was borrowed earlier that day Darian, but they cannot as yet ascertain if he was the driver of the Toyota Corolla.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“We can say that both persons were released from the hospital, however, upon visiting the families, Mr. Romero cannot speak and he cannot speak at this point in time. So we were unable to ascertain who the driver was, however, our investigation has led us to say that Mr. Romero had called his sister, one Kenisha Romero on the date in question, in order to borrow her vehicle. As a result, the vehicle was given to him by another family member who was at the home. So he was the person that had left the home driving the said vehicle that was involved in the fatal road traffic accident.”

“That being said, I don’t know if this is off or on record, but that being said, is it sufficient to surmise that he would have been the driver of the vehicle since it was handed over to his custody?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“No, because the police obviously are gathering other information which have not yet been recorded in statements to say that it may or may not have another driver at the time of the accident.”
The vehicle was headed in the direction of Punta Gorda Town at the time of the accident.
