Ranchito Resident Dies in Accident in the North
There was further loss of life, but on the highways. A traffic accident in the north claimed the life of a young woman in the early hours of this morning. Police responded to an accident in Ranchito Village where they saw a car overturned. The driver, twenty-five-year-old Ashanti Rowland, lost control of her vehicle, which flipped several times; she died on the spot. ACP Joseph Myvett explains.

“This morning shortly around twelve-thirty a.m, police were called to an area in Ranchito Village in Corozal District where upon arrival a car was seen on the highway overturned. As a result of police’s inspection of the scene, Ashanti Rowland, twenty-year-old, of the same area was seen motionless, whilst the driver of the vehicle, one Angel Chan, also received severe injuries and was transported to the Corozal Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. Ms Rowland was pronounced dead on arrival at the Corozal Hospital. The vehicle was north bound heading towards Corozal Town at the time of the accident.”
