Gun owner pleads guilty to firearm charges

And in a follow up to a story we reported last night, twenty-two year old Dean Cain has pleaded guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and was fined one thousand, five hundred dollars for each of the two offences. It was Cain’s loaded gun left with his girlfriend, Kira Plunkett, that was used by Plunkett’s four-year-old niece, Honey Flowers, to accidentally kill herself. The gun, in a black case, was left inside a baby’s bag on a bed in the room where Honey was playing. Police have not ruled out a charge of causing death by careless conduct in the case, but the file has not yet been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
