Shopkeeper robbed at gunpoint
Violence among and between gangs is not the only type of crime ravaging Belize City. Police report that on Tuesday afternoon a pair of armed robbers knocked off a retail store in the Coral Groves area. One of the jackers pointed a sawed off shotgun at Samir Hamze, proprietor of Hamze Mart, and relieved him of a cell phone, three hundred dollars from the cash register and eight hundred U.S. dollars from his wallet. No arrests have yet been made.
