Father killed, son injured in hit and run

A hit and run accident on Thursday has left one man dead and his teenage son in the hospital. Reports are that forty-year-old Abel Diaz and his sixteen year old son, Wilber, were walking on the Northern Highway towards their home in San Jose Village around 7:00 p.m. But when the two reached an area between miles fifty-eight and fifty-nine known as the Mamayal curve, they were knocked down. According to the teen, the car did not stop and he was forced to beg passing motorists to transport he and his father to the hospital. However, authorities declared the elder Diaz dead on arrival. Wilber Diaz has been treated for a broken right wrist and cuts to his face, arms and legs. Anyone who can provide a description of the vehicle and/or its driver is asked to please contact the nearest police station.
