Little Junior Miss Belize Returns with a Bang
Little Junior Miss Belize is returning to the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts with a bang. After taking a two-year hiatus, the children’s pageant show is set to light up the stage at the Bliss tomorrow night. It’s a fundraising event put on by Concerned Belizean Women and according to member, Karen Vernon, seven young ladies have stepped up to the plate to vie for this year’s title of Little Junior Miss Belize.

“We have seven young ladies between the ages of nine to thirteen vying for the title of Little Junior Miss Belize 2018. They have different segments to this pageant. They start out doing an introductory dance and then they introduce themselves. They have to pick a district and do a district platform statement and dress to depict the district. Then they do a talent segment and then they do an evening gown which is the visual poise competition.”

“After the pageant concludes tomorrow, what should these girls go home with?”
Karen Vernon
“We teach them from they came that beauty if not just your outer appearance. It is your inner beauty. It’s the way you treat people, being on time, being civil to people and respecting yourself and respecting others. They learn from each other and they learn to be friends. This is for a worthy cause. It is being done by Concerned Belizean Women. We are an organization that came together to assist disenfranchised women and children. We do scholarships, school feeding programs. We go into the schools and paint classrooms to make life better for people.”
The pageant begins at six o’clock in the evening at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets can be bought at the Bliss for five dollars for children and twenty dollars for adults.
