Jerry Matura medical fund opened

Last Thursday night, a traffic accident on the Northern Highway left one young man dead and another fighting for his life. Tonight the survivor, thirty-two year old Jerry Matura remains in critical condition in a Merida hospital, while family members here pray for a speedy recovery. But their hopes and prayers don’t translate into the cold hard cash needed to pay for Matura’s operations and they are asking the community for help.

“His jaw is broken, his whole face is broken as we heard. He will be blind in one eye, and they’re waiting for him to become stabilised so they can operate, because his whole face is broken up. We need help to assist him with the finance, because right now he is in the hospital and it’s eight hundred dollars a day, plus medication. And he is over there from Saturday, so the finance is going up higher and higher and then we really need some help from the public. It could be anything from something small like a prayer, anything will help. We just need our brother to be back here, his children are waiting for him to be back, his family, everyone loves him and we want him to be back.”
