2 Guatemalans Nabbed with 40 Cases of Uncustomed Pesticide
Two Guatemalan nationals are in trouble with immigration tonight after they were detained over the weekend in the Calla Creek area in western Belize. Humberto Munroy and Ervin Garcia, both residents of Melchor De Mencos, Guatemala were found travelling in a Toyota pickup truck carrying forty cases of uncustomed insecticide. Police say they were nabbed around eleven a.m. on Sunday and could not produce any customs documents for the insecticide.

“Whilst San Ignacio police were conducting mobile patrol in the Calla Creek area; they came across a red Toyota pickup which had two occupants. At the time, the pickup was located with forty cases of Rezpet insecticide for which they could not produce any customs document. Both persons who were occupants of the vehicle were Humberto Munroy, thirty-three years Guatemala of Melchor De Mencos and Ervin Garcia, thirty-five years also of Melchor De Mencos. Both persons have been handed over to the Customs Department.”
