Man Jumps from Bus to His Death
And in the west, there was a third victim of a traffic accident. Carlos Jimenez, a twenty-four-year-old Honduran national, leapt to his death from a moving passenger bus on around three-thirty p.m. last Thursday. It is not known why he tried to evade the police checkpoint, but it cost him his life. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett explains.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Belmopan police were conducting vehicular checkpoint on the Valley of Peace Road when a bus approached the checkpoint but shortly before the bus came to a stop, a male Hispanic person jumped out of the moving bus through the back door. His name was later learnt to be Carlos Jimenez, a twenty-four-years Honduran of a Young Bank address. He was taken to the western regional hospital and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to the injuries he received from the accident.”
