S.P. woman claims rape; police suspect mischief

Tonight, a man remains in the custody of San Pedro Police as officers from the island investigate a report of rape, even though new information suggests it might be a mischievous act. According to police, a twenty-year old woman originally told them that she was at a hotel in town when she went to use the bathroom in the office. The young woman says someone she recognised followed her inside and had sex with her without her consent. But after police detained the man and started asking more questions, they found out the two were a couple and may have had an argument why the woman would have resorted to filing the complaint. Police say they are investigating and up to news time tonight no charges have been filed against either person.
