Belama Resident Charged for Shooting of Thomas Ferguson
A twenty-six-year-old Belama resident was charged for the attempted murder of Thomas Ferguson. The nineteen-year-old Arlington Drive was targeted last Friday while talking to a friend a short distance from his house in Belize City. Ferguson was shot twice to the stomach and back and remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. Police say that they believe that the person responsible is Jermaine Matura. Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino explains.

“On the fifth of October, police arrested and charged Jermaine Matura, a twenty-six-year-old unemployed of Samuel Haynes Street, Belama Phase One. He was charged for attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.”

“Are you able to tell us if an identification parade was part of the procedures to bring charges against him?”

“I cannot go into details with regards to the investigation.”
