OW Police Makes Progress in Murder Investigation
Orange Walk Police have made some progress in the murder investigation of twenty-one-year-old Jose “Duffy” Medina. Accompanied by an attorney, one of the persons wanted for questioning handed himself over to police today. That individual we are told is an associated of the Back-A-Town Crips Gang and is known to police. Going into the extended weekend, police are on alert for possible retaliation in what seems to be an escalating gang war between members of the Back-A-Town Crips Gang. A post-mortem examination conducted on Medina’s body revealed that he died as a result of traumatic shock due to gunshot wounds received to the head and chest. He was on an alley off Mahogany Street, heading home, when a lone gunman pounced on him blasting the fatal shots. Medina’s girlfriend, twenty-eight-year-old Lucia Luna was shot to the abdomen during the attack. She underwent surgery at the N.R.H. and we understand she is in a stable condition.
