Escaped convict wounded in capture
An escaped prisoner has been captured…and wounded in the process. Twenty-one year old Emerson Talbert, an inmate at Hattieville, was labouring as part of a work gang in Belize City on Thursday when he made a break for freedom. He managed to elude his guards until nightfall, when he was apprehended in the vicinity of North Creek near Central American Boulevard. How Talbert received a gunshot wound to the stomach is not clear, but the convict remains under guard at the K.H.M.H., reportedly in stable condition. Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
