Denfield Tasher charged with robbery of Tienda Melchor

Story PictureThe court also remanded a man to the Hattieville Prison after he pleaded not guilty to Robbery. Twenty year old Denfield Tasher Jr. of Tibruce Street was charged with four counts of Robbery for an incident which occurred shortly after midday last Friday at Tienda Melchor, located at the corner of Mosul Street and Cemetery Road. Police allege that Tasher was one of two armed men who entered the business and robbed three people of personal belongings valued at over two thousand eight hundred dollars. The two gunmen hid the stolen loot in a “Winnie the Pooh” hand bag which they also stole from the store and escaped in a red taxi that was parked in the area. Police later found the car abandoned on Regent Street. They also detained its driver, Tyrone Martinez. But the stolen items were gone and they have not brought charges against Martinez. Denfield Tasher, Junior, presently has a robbery charge before the court for which he was granted bail some months ago.
