Home invasion on Fabers Road
A Fabers Road resident who fell asleep with his front door open became the victim of a home invasion. Amir Reed, an electrician and landlord, woke up in the wee hours of Sunday morning to a thief holding a knife to his throat and demanding money. The robber searched Reed and took over four hundred and fifty dollars and his car keys from his pockets. He then ordered Reed to lay on the floor, tied his hands and feet with electrical cords, stuffed a rag in his mouth and put a sheet over him. The assailant proceeded to search the rest of the room and then went downstairs to Reed’s car. After struggling to free himself, Reed noticed that the house had gone silent and quietly made his way out of the bedroom. But the thief was not done and as Reed neared the living room, he saw his attacker entering the front door with the car stereo in his hands. Reed headed for the backdoor and managed to get out of the house and alert a neighbour to call the police. The thief, who was dressed in three quarter length jeans and an undershirt then made good his escape.
