Opposition Leader Takes on Health Minister on Marijuana Legalization
That evidence surfaced on Tuesday in the form of letters. The letters document that there were discussions held in support of the legalization of marijuana. On February tenth, one of the letters stated that a meeting was held on February fifth, 2016 between Minister of Health Pablo Marin and businessman Zev Ben Yosef. The discussion focused on the establishment of a cannabis farm for the production of marijuana for export for medicinal purposes.
John Briceño, P.U.P. Leader
“As early as the tenth of February 2016, the Minister of Health Pablo Marin issued a letter to one Zec Ben Yosef, Robert Peyrefitte. Interesting to find out where they are talking about establishing a cannabis farm. Pablo Marin, his Minister of Health, is talking that they are two hours flights from the major gateway ports to the United States of America. I never mentioned about selling cannabis to the United States of America. It is his government, his ministers that is talking about selling it to the United States, Not I. What also interesting, Robert Peyrefitte is the brother of Leila Peyrefitte, Leila Peyrefitte is the partner of the C.E.O. in the Prime Minister’s office. Connect the dots and you can see, I find it very difficult to believe that the Prime Minister was not aware of it.”
Hipolito Novelo
“I think Minister Marin mentioned that he did not take the idea to Cabinet because it was simply an idea and the proposed project was not presented…”
John Briceño
“But how can he make such decision? He can’t make a decision on his own so Pablo Marin right now is being used at the scapegoat. He has to fall on his sword as the saying would go.”
