Opposition Leader Sends Messages of Condolences to Affected Family

John Briceño

Belizeans across the country and overseas have been sharing messages of condolences with the family.  Today, P.U.P. Leader John Briceño did the same, expressing sympathy, urging religious leaders to, once again, to go on the ground and get deeper into community life.

John Briceño, P.U.P. Leader

It saddens me and it worries me that how we can to this as a nation where it seems that we are so mad with one another and this rage that is building up. I know that our country is going through very economic times but to express that rage by going out at your own really makes us pause for reflection. This is where our religious leaders can step in. I think that they need to be more active. Not only by staying in church but reaching out in the communities, having social programmes for children and for adults sort of counseling. I think that our church leaders, it is time for us to cry out for them, their leadership and their action. Not only to go on a talk show but to be out in the streets and dealing with these issues. My heart goes out to this family.”
