Cycling team sent urine and faeces bomb
By midday on Saturday, cycling fans across the country knew that the Santino’s Jamis team had claimed victory in the most prestigious race of the year. But as the team basked in the glory of their win, little did they know what today would bring. According to team owner Santino Castillo, around nine this morning a hand delivered package arrived at his place of business addressed to the Santino’s Cycling Team from someone claiming to be the “Prophet of the World”. Whether it was a sixth sense or just because it looked downright fishy, Castillo decided not to open it.

“It was clumsily wrapped in brown paper bag paper with a little rope around it. And so I said, “You know what, I won’t open this package, it looks suspicious.” So I called G. Michael Reid, asked him his opinion and he asked me to proceed to send it to C.I.B., which I did, with the same messenger that brought it, Herman Requena. He took it there and 1:30 this afternoon I received a call from the C.I.B. informing me that it was in fact a bomb that the B.D.F. bomb squad had detonated.”
The bomb first of all I must say, was made out of urine, faeces, I don’t know what kind of faeces, human or animal, and chemicals as I was told by the C.I.B. And while it wouldn’t have killed anyone that opened the package, it certainly would have hurt them to a degree. I understand the scent was atrocious. I believe that it’s some sick individual that is a direct result of the Santino’s cycling team winning the cross country, and maybe doing so with a foreigner. Of course that wasn’t our intention, but that’s the way it turned out.”

“Now how does this change your mood as far as cycling goes?”

“Well, it put me from a very high that I had on winning the race, to a very low because you see these things in the world and you see it happening with business. But I never did think it would happen with a sport like cycling which I love and which I have been personally sponsoring for twenty-three years. I don’t think I will come out of cycling because of that, because I honestly believe that there are more good people than there are evil people. And I really don’t believe any of my competitors would have done something like this really.”
While the man who brought the homemade bomb to Santino’s has been identified, police believe he was simply a pawn in someone’s sick game. The Criminal Investigation Branch has launched a full inquiry into the matter.
